Matt Pulido is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and holds a BS with Honors in Mathematics from Cal Poly Pomona.

At Taylor & Mulder Inc., Mr. Pulido conducts rate filing reviews of personal and commercial insurance lines, including but not limited to pet insurance, personal auto, and personal property. His responsibilities include evaluating the soundness and actuarial rigor of a variety of ratemaking techniques, including traditional pure premium- or loss ratio-based approaches as well as complex predictive modeling approaches such as tree-based methods and generalized linear models. His complete and thorough reviews of rate filings and underlying data ensure that filings meet regulatory requirements and actuarial standards. He is also responsible for conducting reserve reviews for various clients.

Prior to joining Taylor & Mulder, Inc., Mr. Pulido worked for the Auto Club of Southern California, where he was a predictive modeler on the Research and Development team and associate actuary. As a predictive modeler, he produced homeowners by-peril models, symbol assignment models, territory models, retention models, and telematics models, among others. As an associate actuary, he was responsible for conducting rate indications, non-catastrophe and catastrophe reserve reviews, and ensuring filings complied with state requirements. He worked on personal auto and personal property lines across numerous markets, including California, Texas, Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York, among others.
